The terms for using Communicate Better, including subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds

These Terms govern your use of Communicate Better (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these Terms.

Who Can Use It

You must be at least 16 years old to use Communicate Better. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

Your Account

You can sign up with email and password or with Google. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login safe. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us right away. You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete account.

AI-Generated Content

Communicate Better is an AI practice product. The scenes, model replies, and principles are written in advance and reviewed by us. The other person's reaction to your reply and the coach's feedback are generated by AI in the moment. AI output can be wrong, awkward, or not fit your situation.

Everything in the Service is for practice and general learning only. It is not therapy, counseling, medical, legal, or career advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. How you actually speak and act is your call.

Free and Paid Plans

You can use the free plan without a card, with limits on moments and daily AI coach replies. The paid plan unlocks every moment and more daily practice, billed $14.99 per month or $89 per year. The price, billing period, and taxes shown at checkout are what apply.

Payments and Merchant of Record

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments Inc., our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments sells the subscription to you and handles payment, billing, invoices, and sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is also subject to the Dodo Payments Buyer Terms. Charges on your statement come from Dodo Payments on our behalf.

Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

  • Auto-renewal: when you subscribe, you authorize Dodo Payments to charge you the plan price at the start of each billing period (monthly or yearly). Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
  • How to cancel: cancel anytime online in Settings, which opens the Dodo Payments customer portal. You don't need to email us.
  • When it takes effect: cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account returns to the free plan. To be sure you are not charged for the next period, cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date.
  • Price changes: if we change the price, we will tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next billing period. You can cancel before then.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record under its Buyer Terms, on a case-by-case basis. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. If you were charged by mistake, charged after cancelling, or the Service didn't work for you, contact us and we'll work with Dodo Payments to make it right. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription first.

Acceptable Use

Please don't:

  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or to produce hateful, sexual, or illegal content.
  • Put other people's private information (names, contact details, secrets) into your replies or submissions.
  • Try to get around usage limits or paywalls, share paid accounts, or resell access.
  • Scrape, copy, or bulk-download practice content, or use automated tools to send requests.
  • Try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, or misuse the AI features to generate content unrelated to practice.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Content and Submissions

  • Your replies stay yours. You allow us to store and process them to run the Service and give you feedback.
  • Submissions: real situations you send us may be edited and turned into practice content. By submitting, you give us a free, worldwide, perpetual license to use and adapt them. Don't submit anything that identifies someone or shouldn't be shared.
  • Our content: the scenes, lines, and designs in the Service belong to us. Characters and situations are fictional or adapted and don't refer to real people.

Disclaimers and Liability

The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Changes and Termination

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept them. You can stop using the Service and delete your account anytime.
